The Teddy Lounge Chair is a comfortable rattan lounge chair designed by Viggo Boesen in 1936. The Teddy chair forms part of Sika-Design’s exclusive ICONS collection, which presents furniture by some of the most talented designers and architects of our time.
Boesen was known as one of the best designers in the heyday of Danish design. Teddy is Boesen’s interpretation of the popular ear flap chair from the mid-19th century. The chair was named Teddy because the design resembles a teddy bear hug. The name both describes the appearance of the chair and the feeling when leaning back into it.
The Teddy Lounge Chair is handcrafted in sustainable Indonesian rattan and woven by skilled wicker makers. Sika-Design carefully selects its rattan and uses only the best quality. Rattan is a remarkably strong and indestructible material and therefore rattan design furniture can last for generations.
