Donia Ouertani and Nolwenn Michéa met while studying at the École Supérieure d’Art et Design de Saint-Étienne, where they discovered a shared approach to design centred on experimentation, craftsmanship and material exploration. Following an academic exchange in Scotland in 2015, they began collaborating and established Foghar Studio in 2020.
Their work explores the creative potential of overlooked natural resources, particularly plant-based materials, transforming them into contemporary furniture and objects that celebrate sustainability, texture and the beauty of the handmade. Through thoughtful research and experimentation, the duo creates timeless pieces that balance innovation with a deep respect for nature and craftsmanship.
